About The Vodacom Bursary Programme 2024
The bursary is intended for South African university students in their first, second, and third years who are majoring in STEM fields. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
More specifically, the Vodacom bursary will cover the following fields of study:
- Information Technology
- Information Systems
- Computer Engineering
- Electrical or Electronics Engineering
- Mathematical Sciences
- Mathematics
- Data Analytics
Students are selected based on their merit and the need for financial assistance.
The bursary covers the cost of the full-time education and will pay for the following:
- Programme registration cost
- Tuition cost
- Accommodation cost (full coverage for university accommodation and capped for private stays)
- Textbook expenses
- Meals
In addition, beneficiaries will also receive laptops, mobile phones, workshops for orientation, exposure to the industry, and access to the Wellness Programme (ICAS) service. These strategies will all support students in entering the workforce as soon as possible.
Eligibility Criteria
Vodacom has a screening procedure in place to choose the top applicants for the bursary program. The criteria for eligibility make up the first half. These conditions must be met by all applicants. If this isn’t done, the application will be turned down.
The eligibility criteria for the Vodacom bursary programme are:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must have either completed Matriculation or currently in Matric
- Achieved an exemption pass in Matric
- Should have scored at least 70% in all subjects in Matric
- Should have an average of 65% if studying at tertiary level
- Must be either pursuing or willing to pursue a full-time course
- The field of study must be from STEM
- Should be starting their first, second, or third year from 2023
- Must be willing to study at the University of Technology in South Africa or a recognized university
- Should lack the monetary resources to complete the education

Create An Account
- Creating an account on the Vodacom portal is the first step. This is crucial because it’s how the organization manages your bursary application. To register, click the “Register” button at the top.
Submit An Online Application Form
- Log into your account after creating one to finish the online application form. On the form, you must fill up your personal and academic information. It’s crucial that you respond to every question, unless it doesn’t apply to your situation. Forms that are not complete are rejected without informing the applicants.
Submit Necessary Documents
- The requested documents must be submitted as the last step. For the processing of your application, they are crucial. The following documents must be prepared and submitted:
- ID documents
- Matric certificate
- Academic records received to date (on official letterhead)
- Admission proof that you’re selected into a tertiary institution
- Documents regarding any other bursary you might be using
- The documents should be certified copies. You need to upload them into the portal.

About CSIR & Its Bursary Program
Established in the year 1945, CSIR is the central research and development organization in South Africa which covers 10% of the African R&D budget. It is based in Pretoria with a campus of its own and staff strength of 3000 technical and scientific researchers.
The CSIR bursary program is based on merit and invites applications from students wishing to pursue a career in research, technology development and innovation as well as corporate/support areas. This institution also aims to encourage female and black students in the fields of Science, Engineering, and Technology.

Who Can Apply?
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying :
Current Matric/ Grade 12 students:

- Achieved a minimum of Level 6 (70% – 79%) for Mathematics in Matric

Postgraduate students pursuing architectural degrees are eligible for SAOTA subsidies. The bursary program was established in 2012, and as of this writing, 44 scholarships have been given to students across the nation who are studying architecture.
After graduation, bursary recipients must complete practical training with SAOTA.

South African Road Federation (SARF) Bursary 2024
The South African Road Federation invites all eligible applicants who wish to continue their education to apply for financial support in the form of scholarships. The grant of funds will consider subjects that are fundamental to the road transportation sector, including:
- Road Engineering (Traffic engineering, Transportation planning, Pavement engineering, Bridge Engineering, Construction Materials, Stormwater, Environment and Construction management),
- Road Transport Management
- Road Transport Economics and Road Traffic Management (Traffic Policing and Accident Investigation).
The eligible academic authority at the institution where the applicant wishes to study must approve all applications.
The amount of the bursary will depend on the applicant’s needs and the Federation Council’s judgment. Although it won’t be enough to pay for everything, it is meant to enhance the student’s existing resources. On the bursar’s behalf, it will be paid directly to the concerned academic institution.
After completing their studies, applicants must demonstrate to Council that they will be working in a setting consistent with the South African road transport business.

The South African Road Federation (SARF), an organization that was established in 1950, serves as a focal point for persons interested in the country’s roads and the local road industry in South Africa.
The South African Road Federation (SARF) is an organization whose mission is to advance the South African road industry by information dissemination, the support of sensible legislation, and through education and training. SARF works to promote economic growth in the industry through education and training, with a primary goal of encouraging the continuous development of effective and efficient road networks in South Africa.
Bursars will be expected to:
- Enroll as an associate (i.e. individual) members of the SARF (approximate annual subscription: R445)
- Submit six-monthly reports of your study progress
- If you are enrolled for postgraduate studies thesis covering the research results, academic content or similar for publication in the Federation’s newsletter or other publication, within a reasonable time after completion of the course of study.
- Be prepared to make a presentation to your local branch of the Federation of the subject of your study on a mutually convenient occasion.

The eligibility criteria for the The South African Road Federation programme are:
- South African citizens are preferred but applicants from SADC countries may also apply
- Applicants studying full-time or enrolled towards a road transport industry-related degrees at an accredited South African University or the University of Technology.
- Advance levels such as M.Sc., M. Tech. or above will be given preference, however, undergraduate degrees may also be considered.
- Employees/members of SARF will be given preference

Jones & Wagener Bursary Programme 2024
Jones & Wagener invites students to apply for Bursary Programme 2023 / 2024 academic year.
Closing Date: 31 July 2023
Bursaries will be awarded for studies towards the following qualifications (BEng / BSc):
- Civil Engineering (BEng or BSc)
- Environmental (BEng or BSc)
- Geochemistry (BEng or BSc)
- Geology (BEng or BSc)
The bursary will provide cover for the following expenses: tuition fees (as a minimum), but may also provide cover for accommodation and offer a limited prescribed textbooks allowance.
After graduating, bursary recipients will be required to work at Jones & Wagener for a duration equal to that of their bursary award. During their studies, students may also be required to partake in vacation work in Centurion or Rivonia – this will take place over a 6-week period in July and/or December and students will receive remuneration. Shortlisted applicants will be contacted no later than 31 October 2023 – if you do not receive any feedback by this date, please regard your application as unsuccessful
Requirements
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- You must be a South African citizen
- You must have completed Matric OR you must be currently in Matric
- You must be studying OR you must intend on studying towards one of the qualifications listed above, in 2024
- You must be studying OR you must intend on studying at a recognised and accredited University in South Africa You must have a strong academic record
